TIP: Copying files disk to disk without a PC with egreat R200
Q: How do i copy files in the R200 File Manager?a. Bring up the file manager
b. see two panes the left is the source drive/folder, the right is the target drive/folder c. focus on left pane and select folders/files you want to copy(max of 10 per transfer, i think). d. a check box will appear on the folders/files you selected e. move to right pane (via arrow right in control) and select the target disk or folder. f move arrow right again and it will prompt if you want to move or copy, SELECT accordingly. g. finally, move arrow right again to start copying. TIP: a.make sure target has enough space! b. i find copy safer than move :) c. if you need to move a bulk of files in one go(great for night transfers and huge bulk files/folders), you can: c.1 create a folder (ie. #target) in the root directory and do the same selection but c.2 move to that CREATED FOLDER (i.e. #target) c.3 then once all files are moved to #target, you can then COPY that to the target disk drive/folder. |
Q: HOWTO copy files on R200Copying SATA to SATA beats copying SATA to USB.
R200 is equipped with 2 SATA (internal and external) which is best used for bulk copies without a PC.while SATA to SATA file/folder transfers between are fast(3000Mbps), copying to USB 2.0 can be done albeit at a slower speed (480Mbps) TIP: R200 can only select so much files/folders, so normally you should move all the files you want in a #target directory, then select that directory to copy to destination. ![]()

Q: I keep my HD content per directory, with over 100, what's a good tool to list sizes per directory?ExplorerXP - www.explorerxp.com
|
(1) ExplorerXP - www.explorerxp.com
this is a neat tool if you manage your libaries by category (Movies, Movie Series, Animation, Adult, Concerts, Documentary, Misc, TV Series)
or by folder per title |
(2) DIRSIZE (time limited)![]() DIRSIZE lists ala tree all your directories with a size for each. If you have a HD content library that spans several SATA disks, this tool can lists directory name and size.
